Project: Water
A letter from the Sudan 3/17/2008
Dear Patrick,
This is the result of my tour,
You get young girls, boys happy to come back home, but what will
they find, the white tent you see in this footage.
NO water, but to collect from the road, I have to stop and asked
them, they said, who will give us clean water?
See number of jerry can, the whole day, women remain in the place of
water, for hours, 9 thousand people per borehole.
This was the area of Acholi, and Madi in Western Deanery

Water
Hygiene and Sanitation Education (WHYSE): This project started in
1996 and has since then contracted out the drilling of over 200
boreholes and organized and trained the communities regarding the
water points operation and maintenance. It also provides education
on hygiene and sanitation. Over the last few years there has been a
shift in emphasis with more resources spent on hygiene and
sanitation nonetheless without neglecting the attention to water
points operation and borehole maintenance.
